Forbes ranks WellSpan among best employers in Pennsylvania

WellSpan Health is proud to be recognized in the Forbes’ list of the 100 best employers in Pennsylvania, with the health system ranking No. 24 this year.

Forbes, one of the nation’s leading business publications, creates the list by directly surveying employees of organizations with more than 500 employees.

According to Forbes, the surveys are anonymous, which allows participants to openly share their opinions. People are asked to rate their employers on a variety of criteria, including safety of work environment, competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement and openness to telecommuting.

This recognition of WellSpan among the Commonwealth’s best employers is validation of our longstanding commitment to our workforce. WellSpan believes that it is our people who give us our unique WellSpan advantage, allowing us to be a healthy step ahead in service to our patients, our communities – and each other.

“We are proud to be recognized by our employees and communities as an employer of choice in Pennsylvania,” said Roxanna Gapstur, Ph.D., R.N., President and CEO, WellSpan Health. “At WellSpan, we’re committed to fostering diverse and highly engaged individuals and teams who are supported to do their best every day. It’s foundational to delivering exceptional care and living our vision to be ‘A Trusted Partner. Reimagining Healthcare. Inspiring Health.’”

As a leading regional health system serving central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland, WellSpan offers competitive salary, well-regarded benefits packages and paid time off, a commitment to a diverse and inclusive culture, support for career aspirations and professional growth, and the chance to give back to local communities by joining its non-profit mission of service.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, WellSpan doubled down on our efforts to support our caregivers, by launching the WellSpan Health Family COVID-19 Assistance Program – funded in part by a temporary reduction in executive salaries –and by deploying a host of other programs and services to help our team members in their own times of need, professionally and personally.
