WellSpan Health has appointed Orie Chambers to the role of vice president for the health system as well as president of WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. In this position, Chambers now oversees operations of the 141-bed community hospital and hospital-based services throughout the region, ensuring coordination with systemwide processes for patient safety, quality, care management, performance improvement and patient experience.
“Orie brings extensive experience, including clinical service in the United States Air Force, which shaped his strategic and team-building approach,” said James Stuccio, senior vice president of WellSpan’s east region. “His commitment to team engagement, strong provider relationships and high-quality outcomes will be invaluable as he leads the team in service to the community.”
Chambers has been serving in the role in an interim capacity for the past eight months. Since joining WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital in 2011 as clinical director for emergency and behavioral health services, he has consistently advanced the organization’s mission and performance. In 2021, Chambers was promoted to vice president and chief nursing officer, where he led transformative initiatives in team member engagement, operational excellence, patient safety and collaborated on strategies that reduced patient length of stay and overall cost of care.
His new role became effective Nov. 30. Chambers now reports to James Stuccio, senior vice president of WellSpan’s east region.
