Easy access to COVID-19 vaccines at WellSpan locations

With the number of COVID-19 cases continuing to increase across South Central Pennsylvania, WellSpan Health is reminding those eligible of their options to get vaccinated.

Recently WellSpan Health expanded access to the COVID-19 vaccine to nearly 30 physician offices and practices across the region so that patients can have important conversations with their doctor about questions they may have related to the vaccine.

“WellSpan Health is committed to decreasing vaccine hesitancy by educating those in our communities on the science while also working to remove barriers to access the vaccine,” explained Dr. Mark Goedecker, vice president and chief medical officer for primary care, WellSpan Health. “We want to have those conversations with our patients and make sure all their questions are answered.”

If you want the COVID-19 vaccine, here are your options:

  • Schedule an appointment through the MyWellSpan patient portal
  • Call the COVID-19 hotline at (855) 851-3641
  • Utilize walk-in hours at most locations (click here for details)

Remember, you do not need to be a WellSpan Health patient to get the vaccine and there are no out-of-pocket costs to individuals who get their shot.

The vaccine remains highly effective against COVID-19 and the Delta variant, especially with regard to preventing serious illness and hospitalizations. The vast majority of individuals currently hospitalized for COVID-19 are unvaccinated.

“It’s important to recognize that while breakthrough cases can occur in those that are vaccinated, transmission rates and hospitalization rates from those individuals remain very low,” explained Dr. Eugene Curley, infectious disease specialist, WellSpan Health. “Getting the vaccine is the most important thing you can do to prevent becoming seriously ill from COVID-19. It can also help to limit the spread of COVID-19 to your family, co-workers and those around you.”
