Evaluation and Management of Abnormal PAP Smears

As part of preventative women's care, WellSpan gynecologists recommend that most women have routine PAP smears. It can be concerning if this test comes back abnormal, but we are here to help. When needed, gynecologists can perform procedures including a colposcopy to more closely examine your cervix, vagina and vulva for signs of disease. When needed, we can also perform in-office or same-day surgical procedures including LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision procedure) and cone biopsy, which are two methods of removing abnormal tissue from the cervix.

In-Office and Hospital Surgical Procedures

We offer certain procedures in the office setting, which allows you the convenience of staying close to home for your procedure. When required, we perform other procedures in the hospital setting.
