How We Can Help

Online Classes

Several childbirth preparation classes offered online, from in the comfort of your own home.  Available in English and Spanish.

Childbirth Classes

Our nurse educators offer evidence-based childbirth classes to expectant mothers and their support persons, which include techniques for labor such as breathing and relaxation. We offer a variety of childbirth classes to fit your schedule, including six-week courses and accelerated, weekend-only courses. We also offer infant CPR classes that we recommend to all expectant parents.

Breastfeeding Classes and Support

We offer Breastfeeding 101 courses to help expectant moms and support persons be more prepared for what to expect for breastfeeding. We will provide information such as positioning, when you can expect your mature milk to come in, and how to tell that your breastfed baby is getting enough to eat. We will also cover related topics such as using a breast pump and mom returning to work.

Sibling Class

Our nurse educators offer a sibling class to helps older siblings be prepared for the arrival of a baby. This class can help ease the transition to being a sibling and help the older child gain confidence before baby arrives.

Support Groups

WellSpan offers various support groups – such as Mommy Talk for those with babies under one year old and Toddler Time for moms of toddlers – to foster community among parents of young children. These groups feature monthly speakers on topics relevant to the development of children of parents in each group.

Grandparents Class

If an older adult in your family is expected to care for your new baby, some things may have changed related to baby care in the decades since he or she cared for a baby. This class provides the latest infant safety information, including car seat safety, infant CPR and safe sleep guidelines. We also provide caregivers with information on how to support mom and baby in their breastfeeding journey.

Safe Sitter Course

Our nurse educators also offer a safe sitter course, which provides older kids with the skills they need to confidently and safely care for younger siblings or other children in the home setting. We often offer these courses at the start of the summer vacation, so kids can gain the skills they need to stay home alone during the day.
