My interest in medicine started out when I was an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Athletic Training. I already knew I liked learning about the human body and enjoyed helping athletes and others get back to full health, but by becoming a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), I would be able to do much more. I did become a Certified Athletic Trainer, but soon went on to graduate school to become a PA-C and am very glad I did!
I genuinely enjoy helping my patients, and one of the things I like about Orthopedics is getting to see the benefits of the care we provide almost instantly. I love being able to give a patient a cortisone injection that often times gives them nearly 100% pain relief within a couple days so they can just enjoy life for the next several months, or a vacation/hunting trip they have planned. I thoroughly enjoy talking with my patients and finding out about their lives. I'm enthusiastic. I like to laugh, joke around, and have fun while at work, and if you don't mind I will include you too!
I love the outdoors. During the spring and summer months, I often spend the weekends kayaking with my wife and friends, sometimes on multi-day trips. I love to hunt white-tailed deer in both archery and rifle seasons, so during the fall and early winter, I am in the woods every spare minute I can find. I like monitoring the weather, especially in the winter because I love snow! I also spend a lot of time traveling and visiting with friends alongside my lovely wife.
