WellSpan Orthopedics - Chambersburg

Dr. Richards showed great concern for my needs, I just would have liked for this practice to be able to do the surgery, however, he did offer other sources for me to get the surgery I need through Wellspan in Hanover or Hershey.  I would like for it to be done locally.

I don't know how he could have done better.

Concern for hip pain -wanted to have an xray that the hip joint was not the problem and for my peace of mind.Request that xray and it was granted reluctantly.  Problem was referred to as tendon strained or streteched.  Asked about OTC topical products and was told that they were no good.Inquired about use of ice and heat - response was if you want to.Was told that I needed physical therapy.  I gave the Dr. The name of the location that I preferred.  Was told that he did not know that location, but his nurse did.  It has been 6 days and I have yet to receive a call from physical ltherapy.

The doctor was encouraging, and was happy with my progress.

Dr. Richard's explained everything to me very well.

This Provider provided me with all the facts and was very concerned I receive the best care ever.  Awesome.

Dr. Richards is obviously very knowledgeable in his orthopedic practice. I felt confident that he knew the status of my fracture, and he explained healing to me in an understandable manner. I was pleased with his treatment.

I have no bad experience with my providers.

Dr Richards is an excellent surgeon and truly cares for his patients as an entire person, not just your orthopedic injury.

Prompt, friendly, very knowledgeable, thorough,attentive and all the other good things you would expect from a doctor.

He was wonderful!!!Took his time with me and really paid attention to what I had to say.

Excellent doctor and staff but had to be in the hospital by 11 30 was there earlier but had to wait until 330 for the operation ,, not good!

Dr. Richards did an excellent job with my surgery.  He seems to have a passion for his work and strives to have the best possible out come.  He took the time to answer all my questions and helped me recuperate from my surgery through his extensive knowledge.

I am extremely pleased with having Dr Richards  as my orthopedic surgeon.

He wasn't very friendly (which is fine). He did not seem to have much knowledge on my broken finger and stated "that was not his expertise). I should have been scheduled with someone with more experience about my broken finger. He didn't spend much time with me and didn't seem too concerned about my concerns at all. He did mention something about surgery which was odd that that was his "go to" statement when "a broken finger wasn't his area of expertise."

This encounter (my injury) provided the 5th WellSpan professional that has absolutely no empathy or positive bedside manner - Sad!

Wish we had seen him sooner! Very sensible and proactive.

Very rude and arrogant. Judgmental. Clearly very self absorbed. Rude when talking about my injury and myself and activity level.

I was seen ad a follow up from the ER over a weekend with a hand injury. This is not the expertise of Dr Richards so all he was able to do was give me possibilities and maybes and refer me to a hand specialist. Not sure why the office didn't schedule or work me in with the appropriate provider initially. Thankful for same day service but felt I wasn't much further ahead in my care.

Very knowledgeable and efficient.  Really honed in on the problem, assessed, communicated very well, and determined path forward.
