Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare?:

I had an early exposure to medicine due to a childhood eye condition, a curiosity about the world and the way things work and was raised in a small town by parents who personified the phrase “never met a stranger” — these things shaped my personality and values. I feel the most like myself when I am helping others.

What I want my patients to know about me?:

Radiology is my passion. I practice general radiology on a day-to-day basis, but I also have additional expertise as a fellowship-certified neuroradiologist, a special interest in CT and MRI safety and served as the medical director of diagnostic imaging at WellSpan Chambersburg and Waynesboro Hospitals.

I think there is a perception of radiology as cold and impersonal because we do not have the same face-to-face interactions with patients that you might have with your primary care doctor, but that is a myth. I love meeting our patients, so please say hi if you run into me during a procedure (and if you're hungry, ask for a snack; I usually have food in my pockets).

What I do when I’m not seeing patients?:

Spending time with my wife and our two dogs. Spoiling our eight nieces and nephews. Summer is devoted to our garden, beekeeping, spending time on the water and golf. Winter is for skiing, snowboarding and holidays.
