Coming from a family of physicians, I've always had an interest in biology and how remarkable the human body is. And although I majored in journalism in college, becoming a physician was always my career goal. I pursued internal medicine because I like working with adults, from adolescents to the elderly, and sifting through multiple organ systems and problems. Primary care, in particular, is perfect for me because I love getting to know people over time, and forming good partnerships to promote healthier lifestyles.
As a primary care doctor, I try to balance all new patient concerns and questions with all of the many things we need to accomplish during every visit. And because we all have busy lives and schedules, I try to keep my appointments on time. I enjoy educating our future physicians, so I am proud to serve on WellSpan's faculty for our internal medicine residency program and work with visiting third-year medical students from Drexel and Penn State. I practice standard evidence-based medicine, meaning I follow the guidelines put forth by the CDC, American College of Physicians and the United States Preventative Task Force.
Once all my “work work” is done, and all the laundry is cleaned and put away, I spend my free time with my sons Chase and JJ outside in our yard or going for walks. In the summertime, I try to escape to the Jersey Shore for crab feasts while watching sunsets by the water. During the winter, I count down the days until spring training, when our beloved Phillies will hit the field yet again.
