Very impressed with Dr. Mike during recent visit when I and my eye doctor reported an eye issue (Left Trochlear Nerve Palsy causing double vision) that started recently with me.  Dr. Mike immediately ruled out high blood pressure and stroke as possible causes at my appointment.  He ordered blood tests for Lyme Disease and Thyroid Eye disease (both came back negative).  Dr. Mike also ordered an MRI of my brain to determine if there Is any nerve or blood vessel damage causing the nerve palsy.  I am glad to have a PCP that is proactive with my health issues and quickly tries to get to the root of the problem and communicates well with me all along the process...

I told him what was going on but he made me feel very rushed! He just looked over my chart and basically said, "yeah we'll run these test."  I have A LOT of health issues, very extensive medical chart. His basic tests aren't going to cut it. I also told him I was having right ear pain. He looked in both ears and said to get debrox for the right ear. Well the next day I'm deaf in the ear. I come back the next day to see Dr. Atif and it turns out I have a massive ear infection! How did he miss that?? I'm on antibiotics ear drops for ten days now.

I am always amazed at the care you receive from a physician assistant versus a medical doctor. In all the years of being blessed with Mike Seifert as our primary care physician and the times we needed to see another provider due to his schedule, it has taught me hands down that title means nothing because the care was always superior to any other provider with very few exceptions. His approach to health concerns has always been informative and proactive which left me feeling empowered of my health journey. He explains what his thought and reasoning is behind his medical decisions which puts me at ease to follow his lead in what is in my best interest. Most medical doctors have the thought process of they are the medical professional, take their advice and do not ask questions. I am praying that when it is time for Mike Seifert to retire, ELCO Family Health has a new PA like him.
