Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I chose to pursue a career in medicine after joining the US Army in 1987. I qualified as a Combat Medic and enjoyed it. This opened the door for me to broaden into nursing and eventually the nursing anesthesia specialty. I feel that I am able to help those most in need and decrease their fear and anxiety during some of their most stress filled times of life.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I have been in medicine for the majority of my adult life with over 30 years experience. My experiences include 6 years as a combat medic and nursing
assistant, 12 years as an ICU registered nurse, and 14 years as a nurse anesthetist. I not only served in the US Army in the enlisted corp but I retired from the US Air Force where I reached the rank of Lt Col. I served in 3 wartime deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan and am proud to have served our nation's finest, who are the real heroes of this nation.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When not seeing patients, I spend most of my time with my family. However I enjoy a good round of golf and cheering on my Jaguars when I have the time.
