Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:

Starting in high school, I was fascinated by the study of biology (especially anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and more) and wanted to help people, so medicine was a natural fit. I especially wanted to help sick children. Being able to figure out what is wrong with a sick child then supporting him or her and the family through the illness and helping him/her get better, is so rewarding. It NEVER gets old! I get to be a problem solver, a teacher, a healer and a cheerleader all in one. What could be better?

What I want my patients to know about me:

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. What this means is I know God loves me, and also loves EVERY person that I interact with. I know that every child that I care for is fearfully and wonderfully made, and is deserving of the best possible care I can give. Every parent is deserving of my utmost respect and care. I seek to be excellent in all that I do to honor God.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients:

I am a mom of two teenage children, and I love to spend time with them and my husband. I love to read, especially fantasy and science fiction. I love taking photos; animals are my favorite, both in the wild and at zoos and aquariums. I work out daily. I do at home workouts with well-rounded programs that include cardio, resistance and stretching. I mainly eat a whole-foods, plant-based diet, and I love cooking for my family.
