In graduate school, I was very fortunate to participate in a service trip to Morocco to care for people in small villages who did not have access to the health care they desperately needed. I was eager to join a field where I can combine my passion for medicine and my desire to serve the public. Any profession in medicine requires a unique commitment to putting the service of others first, which I have always been passionate about. I also like the fact that the medical field is intriguing and always changing. The best thing about being a physician assistant is we are lifetime learners.
I have been a PA for nine years and have been working in the field of gastroenterology for seven years. I am very fortunate to have found a job I truly love. Growing up in Hanover, I always knew I wanted to come home after college to give back to the community. I have always been an advocate of patient-centered care which ensures that patient values guide all clinical decisions. One of my main goals is involving a patient's family in the decision-making process. I thoroughly enjoy what I do, and I hope that enjoyment shines through every day while caring for my patients.
My husband and I love to travel. We're always planning our next trip! We love visiting the beach, camping, and exploring new places. Some of our favorite trips have been to the West Coast, Boston and Florida. We love the outdoors and treasure the time spent with our family and friends.
