Gifts to WellSpan help our patients and their families
Expanding services close to home
Philanthropic support continues to play a vital role in ensuring patients throughout Adams County have access to innovative, high-quality healthcare close to home. Recent donor-funded investments have expanded specialized rehabilitation services at the WellSpan Adams Health Center, allowing patients with complex speech and swallowing challenges to receive advanced care locally rather than traveling outside the region.
This investment reflects the transformative impact of community philanthropy, bringing leading-edge tools and treatments to the patients who need them most. By supporting access to advanced rehabilitation services, donors are helping improve outcomes, enhance quality of life, and strengthen healthcare resources for our community today and for years to come.

Helping families with food insecurity access healthy food
Not having the funds to purchase fresh, nutritious food, many families end up eating a diet of highly processed, unhealthy food. This can lead to health issues like obesity, diabetes and malnutrition.
Healthy Options, managed by Healthy Adams County, is funded by your gifts to the Gettysburg Hospital Foundation to help individuals and families gain access to nutritious food.
Through Healthy Options, participants receive vouchers for fresh fruits, vegetables and more at the Adams County Farmers Market and Kennie’s Market.
"Healthy Options has changed my life. My diet has improved. I can make good choices, so I eat better now. I couldn't afford to buy fresh, good food and my health was suffering…. I love this program!" – Sharon, Healthy Options participant
