David Gasperack, DO, is senior vice president of WellSpan Health and chief medical officer of WellSpan Medical Group. In this role, he partners with physician, operational and administrative leaders to advance high-quality, safe, equitable and patient-centered care across WellSpan Medical Group and helps drive the organization’s clinical, operational and strategic priorities.
Dr. Gasperack helps shape clinical strategy, supports physician and advanced practice provider engagement, and works collaboratively with leaders across the health system to advance quality, patient experience, innovation and operational excellence.
A board-certified family physician who has practiced in Lancaster County for more than 20 years, Dr. Gasperack brings extensive clinical, operational and physician leadership experience to his role. Prior to becoming chief medical officer, he served as senior vice president of Primary Care & Population Health for WellSpan Health. He previously served as vice president and chief medical officer of WellSpan’s Primary Care Service Line, vice president and chief medical officer of the East Region, and associate medical director of Quality & Innovation for WellSpan Medical Group.
Dr. Gasperack earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA in Health Systems Administration from Union College in Schenectady, New York. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Gasperack serves as president of the WellSpan Population Health Board and on the boards of Preferred Health Care, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Lancaster County Medical Society and Hospice & Community Care, where he is also a member of the Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement Committee. He is recognized as a Certified Physician Executive by the American Association for Physician Leadership.
