Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
When I was 9 years old, I spent several days in the hospital. As a child, the experience was frightening. My family doctor at the time didn’t have a very warm personality, which only increased my anxiety. Covering for him over the weekend however, was a family doctor that was very good with kids. He treated me with an approach that was both lighthearted and humorous, alleviating my fears. His way of calming my nerves was more therapeutic than what treatments were being rendered by the hospital. He was the inspiration for my pursuing a career in primary care. My hope is to be able to continue to render compassionate comfortable medical care to people of all ages like that doctor did all those years ago.
What I want my patients to know about me:
An office visit with me is the patient’s time, not mine. My intent is to ensure all patients have adequate time to express their concerns balanced with staying on time as much as possible to avoid lengthy waiting time. I want my patients to feel listened to and respected throughout all aspects of their care.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I’m not seeing patients, I can usually be found outside on a hiking trail with my fiancé and our family. My passions are day hiking and backpacking the many trails of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Additionally I enjoy camping, mountain biking, traveling and playing music.
