Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:

I am passionate about helping others. It started as a child when I was always bringing home sick or injured animals to help. I wanted to become a doctor early in grade school and never considered anything else. My first path was family medicine because I wanted to take care of all aspects of a patient's care and also wanted to be in the position to prevent disease. I had the opportunity to learn wound care later in my career and found it so rewarding that I decided to do that full time.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients:

I am a family-oriented person and really like people and relationships. I enjoy time with my friends and family so anything that involves planning something together, such a meal or an event is fulfilling to me. I do enjoy hikes, kayaking and staying in shape as well. I also have cat named Coach, who I adopted from the humane society. I spend a fair amount of time at the gym, move it or lose it! I also make frequent visits to see my daughter. Most of my time is spent with my friends and family.
