Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I worked as an LPN for 12 years in a nursing home before pursuing my RN and working as an ER nurse for 5 years. I decided to pursue my masters degree with a concentration in Family Medicine because I was often seeing patients in the ER that could have been seen in a family practice setting instead. I saw the gap in care that many patients were receiving and wanted to improve the care available to these patients in my community.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I love to meet people and listen to their experiences. I think that if a provider can take the time to learn about you personally, it gives them the benefit of understanding the health challenges that each individual may have.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Family is important to me. I married my high school sweetheart and we spent a few years traveling with the US Army before he was discharged and we settled down in York, PA. We have three sons who keep us busy most days. We have a passion for Jeeps and enjoy being outside with our kids swimming, hiking, playing golf, and enjoying each other's company. Kids grow too fast and we are trying to enjoy them as much as we can before they are grown and starting their own families.
