Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I always knew that I wanted to work in medicine in some aspect but I never would have guessed that nursing would become my passion. I have forever loved learning about the inner workings of the human body and how all of our systems are intricately interconnected so much so that dysfunction in one system can upset the entire delicate balance. I did understand how to turn this passion into a career. My college adviser set me up with an internship with a nurse practitioner and I instantly fell in love with the way that career allows you to use the science of medicine and the art of caring. I ended up going to nursing school and have worked the majority of my career in critical care ,which I have absolutely loved, but soon realized that the patients I was caring for who were so ill had many chronic and preventable conditions that with good primary care and preventative health may have changed the outcome. And so here I am!
What I want my patients to know about me:
I would like to be your partner in health. I have over a decade in higher education which has taught me the intricacies of the human body in ways in which I can help you live your healthiest, but no one knows you better than YOU! My goal is to work with you to achieve your highest level of health across all the domains of health (mind, body, spirit) or whatever is most important to you.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I am not at work you will find me spending time with my family, usually chasing my active boys and pug. I also enjoy reading novels and scrap booking.
