Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I knew from an early age that I wanted to do something that challenged me and provided a needed service...nursing was a natural choice. After my children reached college-age, I felt the time was right to challenge myself further and become an acute care nurse practitioner. I work entirely within the hospital OHICU and CCU setting and have found the nurse practitioner role to be both consistently challenging and immensely rewarding.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I spent 22 years in nursing before returning to school to become a nurse practitioner and I feel that every one of those years was valuable to my current practice in critical care. I am very easy to get along with, an introvert by nature, and a vegetarian.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Major interests include spending time with my family and traveling. I look forward to a Caribbean trip to a different island every winter. I also like Netflix binging, cooking, documentaries, true crime shows/podcasts, detailed Internet research on future vacations, and the challenge of a large jigsaw puzzle!
