Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
My first degree was in biomedical engineering. After working in the lab one summer, I realized that I was better-suited to a profession with more human interaction and decided to attend medical school. Now I have the best of both worlds: the opportunity to use my math and science skills to help solve human emergency medical problems.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I spent two years teaching high school math and science in South Africa after college. This led to a lifelong interest in global health, most recently in Ghana and Ethiopia.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I spend quality time with my three children, travel, and do volunteer medical work overseas.
