Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I grew up in an environment where becoming a doctor was a sure way to be recognized and to make your family happy and proud. This motivated those around me to cheer for me as I studied, but what really pushed me was my mother's suffering from COPD due to recurrent acute bronchitis. Her struggle to breathe saddened me as a child and instilled in me a strong desire and resolve to treat patients. I did not have the chance to alleviate her difficulty as a doctor, but I do my best for her through every patient I strive to impact for the better.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am board-certified by the ABFM and a member of AAFP, and I have lived and practiced in Lebanon for over 20 years. I am married to my best friend and college sweetheart, and we have two wonderful adult children. I am interested in a wide scope of outpatient family medicine from newborn to elder care. I am especially interested in prevention and management of common medical conditions such as diabetes, thyroid diseases, heart disease, and hypertension. Additionally, I manage many minor procedures. I believe that patients are not customers or clients, but rather family, friends and neighbors.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy reading about religion and philosophy, and I like to sing and play the lute. I'm involved in different church worship and teaching activities.
I enjoy biking, walking and traveling. Spending time with my wife and two children is my utmost joy.
