Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I chose medicine because of my love for both the arts and sciences. In medicine, I found a career where the two can be combined beautifully to care for others. Specifically, maternal fetal medicine is very interesting and challenging because it's the only specialty where a physician is caring for two patients (mom and baby) at once and having a scientific mindset and a humane touch allow me to serve my patients well.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I think pregnancy is very interesting as it's a deeply personal experience as well as being a medical condition---I want my patients to know that I am cognizant of this fact and believe that my role is to help guide them with the medical aspect of pregnancy with the utmost respect and sensitivity towards the personal aspect. I truly believe in shared decision making with my patients and a team-based approach to care because such an approach yields the best outcomes. If given the honor of being your physician, I promise to care for you with empathy, dignity and compassion.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love spending time with my family. My two toddlers keep me pretty busy. When and if I have some free time, I love traveling, reading and jogging.
