Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
After working as an engineer, I felt like I could do more to make a difference in people's lives. Being a doctor seemed like a great way to stay intellectually challenged, while maximizing how much I could help people. So I quit my job and went to medical school, and I've never regretted that decision.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I don't have any angle or scam, products to sell, or treatments to push. I'm all about helping people make the best choices for their health, utilizing my education, experience, and the best available evidence (which is not from pop culture or gossip). I recognize that it is normal for humans to make mistakes. But when the stakes are high, like for medical care, we need the help of technology to help us minimize mistakes and minimize their impact when they do occur.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I'm at work but not seeing patients, I'm working with WellSpan's Information Services department, working hard to continuously improve our electronic health record system to bring better value and safety to patients. When I'm not working, I'm usually spending time with family, and coming up with ways to have fun and keep life interesting.
