Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
For me, fighting cancer is intensely personal. As a young woman, I helped my father fight advanced stage prostate cancer. That was one of the most challenging and difficult times of his life where his oncology team helped him to overcome and ultimately cure his cancer. I knew one day that I wanted to be able to help people in this way. These experiences ultimately led me to a career in oncology where I approach every patient and family remembering what it was like to sit on the other side of the exam room. As a radiation oncologist, I am dedicated to developing a patient-centered treatment plan to achieve the best possible outcome while respecting quality of life goals.
What I want my patients to know about me:
As a Radiation Oncologist, it is a privilege to provide medical care for my patients; care that is based on the most current clinical evidence and latest technology. It is my goal to establish a relationship of confidence and trust with my patients and their families, so that I may educate them with all of the available treatment options, and guide them in making the best decisions for themselves. I believe in treating the whole patient, not just the disease for I have found that in doing so, the human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
In my spare time I spend quality time with my husband and 3 boys. I also enjoy cooking, biking, hiking, and taking Zumba classes.
