Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
As a young child I was diagnosed with a congenital abnormality of my spine that required surgery to prevent complications as I continued to grow. My own curiosity at the time sparked my interest in medicine as I became fascinated by how the human body worked in trying to understand my own condition. As I got older I remained interested in studying the sciences which ultimately led to pursing a Biology degree in college. During these years I had the opportunity to shadow a podiatrist which gave me a lot of appreciation for the profession I eventually became a part of. Having a career that combined my love of the sciences with having daily opportunities to help others in such a meaningful way led to where I am now with joining WellSpan.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My patients will notice when they come in for an appointment is that I always make every effort I can to make them feel comfortable . Foot and Ankle surgery is a specialty where there has been tremendous technological and scientific advances over the past several years and my patients can be assured that I am up to date on any pathology they present with. Patients can expect that I will give them individualized attention to understand their goals and how I can help them return to a pain-free lifestyle. While many patients do not require surgery to reach full recovery from their symptoms, I always discuss all reasonable treatment options so patients leave the office fully informed of their options.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
During the warmer months, I enjoy playing golf, hiking, and fishing. During the winter I try to get to the mountains to go skiing whenever I can. I also enjoy traveling with my girlfriend Ashley, we are always looking for new destinations to explore.
