Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I have always been fascinated with the field of medicine since my early days when I saw how much of an impact doctors made on the physical and emotional well-being of the patient and their families. Being entrusted to take patients through their toughest times, being an advocate for them, and bringing them the most comprehensive care possible is a humbling experience. It has been a privilege to be able to be in this role and to fulfill my childhood dream.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I truly want to understand my patients' needs and bring in all facets of multidisciplinary cancer care to help them through their cancer journey and beyond. A diagnosis of cancer can place an immense burden on patients and their families. I will treat each patient with the care I would offer to my own family and make sure that every possible treatment avenue is explored to maximize their chance of success.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Spending time with my family, being a chauffeur for my kids' sports activities, and traveling. I also continue to be active in research/publishing and serve on several national committees, bringing those cutting-edge experiences to continue improving my own clinical practice.
