Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
In my youth I was constantly playing or training for sports. After sustaining a few injuries, I was fortunate to meet some incredible surgeons who got me back to the activities I loved. I chose to pursue a career in medicine, more specifically orthopedics, in order to help others who find themselves in a similar position get back to sports, recreation, and a healthy active lifestyle. This career has allowed me to combine my passions for science, sports, and working with my hands to physically treat patients for a safe return to activity.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I grew up in western Pennsylvania and completed my undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University where I played on the football team. As a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon, I specialize in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. Throughout my training, I have had amazing opportunities of all levels, from recreation to professional sports. My aim is to help my patients return to physical activity or competitive sports in a safe manner.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I am not seeing patients, I spend my time with my wonderful wife trying to keep up with our boys. I also enjoy fishing in my free time.
