Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
After high school graduation, I joined the United States Air Force and trained as a medic. The military served as a foundation for my civilian career, and I realized I had a true passion for helping others. I pursued a rewarding career in nursing, striving to make a difference in the lives of others.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am compassionate, empathetic, and an active listener. I was a nurse at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital for 25 years, and I chose to be a nurse practitioner because I wanted to care for my patients on a different level. I am enthusiastic about helping patients improve their quality of life by providing and managing their care and empowering them through education.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I am not working, I spend time with family and friends. I enjoy walking our dog, Shadow, on the trails in Caledonia, cheering for my alma mater, Penn State, at home games, and watching hockey.
