Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a doctor. It was the natural meeting of my intellectual curiosity and desire to help others. There were many paths I considered before selecting the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology, including pediatrics and psychiatry. However, as I explored all my options, I was drawn to a career in service of women.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I grew up moving around a lot, but the vast majority of my life was spent in the South. I moved to York four years ago to attend residency at WellSpan York Hospital. I quickly fell in love with this area for its weather and outdoor activities. I knew quickly that this was where I wanted to stay and practice medicine.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I work very closely with our local chapter of Girls on the Run. This is an after-school program that empowers girls to be healthy, kind and grateful. I am proud to be an assistant coach and advisory committee member. I also love adventure and exploration. From hiking and kayaking around the Susquehanna to international travel, I like learning and experiencing all that life has to offer. This upcoming year, I plan on combining some of my favorite pastimes and competing in my first triathlon.
