Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I had a goal to help people in their times of need, to defend their integrity at times when they may be too weak or tired to defend their own, and to help guide them to a better understanding of their own health.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I began my career as a midwife. It has been my privilege to stand with many women as they bring new life into the world. I have a strong commitment to insure women get the best care available, and I have a deep understanding of women's health and also family dynamics, having six children of my own. When I became a family nurse practitioner, the care I give expanded to the whole family. It is a valuable thing to know the entire family and their health issues. It helps guide decisions and teaching, as well.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love to care for my family, garden and knit. I am an avid reader, and I love to cook and bake.
