Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse for eight years, and found that I have multiple interests, including women’s health, mental health, and emergency/trauma medicine. I didn’t want to specialize in one field, and miss out on my other interests, so I chose family care, where I will get to see a variety of specialties. Family medicine will allow me to be “the jack of all trades” and keep my skill set sharp. Family care also interests me because I can care for patients of both genders, across the lifespan, and really get to know my patients on a deeper level, as well as their parents, children, spouse, etc.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I was born and raised in Waynesboro. I went away to school, and lived out of state for a year, before returning home. This is where my family and friends live, so I plan on remaining here. I am most looking forward to giving back to the community who helped raise me, and caring for patients in my hometown. I am very excited about all the new services that are offered in Waynesboro, so patients do not have to travel out of town to receive high quality health care.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I’m not working, my greatest joy, and top priority in life, is being a mother to my son, Lennon. We enjoy working out, spending as much time outdoors as possible, chasing live music, traveling, being crafty, and road trips to the ocean.
