Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I have always been a nurturer and taking care of others has been second nature. I wanted to spend my life doing what comes natural—helping others. Guiding people to health and helping them become advocates for their health is a fantastic feeling!
What I want my patients to know about me:
Every person deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. I believe that above all else and hold myself to that. Fun facts: I am an Ohio State fan through and through! Go Bucks! I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio; college football games encompassed the weekend. My husband is a Notre Dame fan (unfortunately) so we have some friendly rivalry in our home.
If we ever won the lottery we would build an animal sanctuary, employing people who needed a boost or second chance. I would save every animal if I had the means. Our German shepherd, Django, and our cat, Flip, are both rescues.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I am very much a homebody. I love to be home more than anywhere else in the world! Most everything we do, we do as a family. In the spring and summer you may see me out "scootering" around in Gettysburg. We own a scooter rental business (GettyPeds), and we frequently take our daughters for rides in the scoot coupes. I am also a coupon queen—I LOVE my coupons and getting deals like no other! My husband had to buy additional shelving for all of my "deals."
