Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
After 16 years of bedside nursing, with 12 years spent in emergency medicine, I had the opportunity to help people at their worst. In the role of primary care provider I will have the opportunity to introduce patients to tried and true methods as well as complementary treatments to help them live their fullest.
I wanted to develop relationships with my patients to encourage healthier lifestyles and maximize what each individual is able to contribute to their own health care narrative. I focus on wellness, complementary modalities, frequent review of medications to minimize overuse of unnecessary medications, and working with my patients to come up with the best plan for their health. I am passionate about providing patients the resources and information they need to build their own health narrative. Taking control of your health care is so empowering and leads to more consistent follow through.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I strongly support complementary modalities such as acupuncture for chronic and acute pain, massage therapy, and reiki .
I work with each patient to come up with the best plan for you as an individual.
I honor and value diversity and invite all to feel safe in their healthcare environment.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I have many hobbies, which are mostly creative endeavors. I needle felt, knit, paint and draw, create patterns and sew. I am also an avid gardener, love growing flowers and vegetables. I also make jewelry, and weld.
I am raising two children with my husband, a son, who is 10 and a daughter, who is 7. We value books a lot in our home and I read to the kids every night. I am an animal lover, with 3 cats and a Jack Russell mix who happens to be diabetic. Although I am inundated with cats, I am more of a dog person.
In the summer, we are an active family, swimming and hiking.
