About Me

Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:

I can't say that my decision for medicine was straight forward. Even though I was influenced at a young age by my grandfather, who was an OB/GYN, I was always raised in a way that encouraged me to be open and explore all options that life has to offer. Through those various experiences, it was the ones that were related to medicine that I felt I made the most impact and received the most satisfaction. It was the numerous roles I was able to experience working in the medical setting that solidified my conviction to pursue being a doctor and ultimately an OB/GYN. My career gives me satisfaction because of the difference I make through service.

What I want my patients to know about me:

In my more than a decade of practice in OB/GYN in urban settings as well as specifically working with GYN cancer patients have taught me the importance of patient education and doctor-patient collaboration of care. In addition to striving to always provide the most up to date and innovative treatment options. Patients should know that treatment plans are an ongoing conversation between them and their provider. I always do my best to provide all the options that are available to our patients and engage in a two-way exchange about what is the best fit between those options and my patient's goals. I am a real believer in the application of medicine to adapt to the big picture of how it fits in my patient's lives. I have experienced medicine both as a provider and as a caretaker for chronically ill family members, and understand the importance of being informed of all options in order to tailor care. I look forward to your questions I can help answer.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients:

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like to take on do-it-yourself projects to try my hand at new things, whether it be home improvement projects or new recipes. I enjoy traveling and seeing different ways of life, or relaxing at home with a good podcast. I am active in an on going yearly mission which is important to me.
