Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I chose to pursue a career in the medical field because I like to be part of a team striving toward the same goals -- helping a patient feel better and overcoming obstacles.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I have been a physician assistant since 1999. I have spent 15 years of my career providing emergency medicine and urgent care. I have always had an interest in orthopedics, so in 2010 I started working in an acute orthopedic injury clinic part time. In 2012, I decided to join an orthopedic practice full-time where I continued to take care of acute orthopedic injuries and spine. Recently I joined WellSpan orthopedics part time and continue to learn more about managing acute orthopedic injuries. I look forward to working closely with Dr. Richard Richards helping with acute trauma.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I am not working, I stay very busy as a wife and mother to my 3 children. We enjoy baseball, basketball, camping, golf, softball and swimming. The benefit of being on a team whether it be at work or at play is very important to me. The team concept has taught me some very valuable life lessons.
