Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
My younger sister was born with many medical problems. The desire to help solve problems she faced led me to medicine. My training in orthopedics and sports medicine provides the ability to improve patient function and decrease pain.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I served over 20 years in the Air Force as an orthopedic surgeon prior to joining our WellSpan Orthopedic Sports Medicine Team. I completed three oversees deployments as a surgeon taking care of our troops in harms way. My last five years were spent as the Orthopedic Residency Training Director overseeing the education of young orthopedic surgical residents. I believe in the importance of educating patients about the medical challenge they are experiencing, the treatment options (both non-surgical and surgical) and together developing a plan to reach their goals.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy spending time with my bride of many years on an old farm property (lots of maintenance and upkeep required). I spend many hours working with our animals including a brother/sister pair of great danes. I am a licensed falconer here in PA.
