Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I knew that I wanted to work in a service type of field since I was young. Initially, after college, I was a high school teacher for 4 years. Then I started medical school and I was geared towards primary care from the beginning. I love family medicine in that I get to see patients of all different ages and for a myriad of reasons. There is no one day like another! In primary care, I enjoy getting to see the same patients again and again, building relationships and educating patients about both preventive health and chronic conditions.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I live in northern Baltimore County but have practiced most of my career in south-central Pennsylvania. Amazingly, I married my high school sweetheart and we have two teenage boys, both of whom are on the autism spectrum. The youngest attends Hereford High School and the oldest, who graduated in spring 2019, is headed into a career as an auto mechanic/ technician. Being a doctor is hard work but I have found being a parent even harder!
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
My family and I enjoy walking the nearby NCR trail with our dog. Cooking and baking are two of my favorite hobbies. Exercise is also important to me. My
husband works as a personal trainer but I do my own thing!
