Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:

As a senior in high school, I was able to participate in an academic exploration program each school morning. I would go to my local inpatient psychiatric center and observe the mental health professionals in their various roles. My favorite part of each morning was interacting with the individuals who were receiving help. I have been "hooked" on the mental health field ever since.

What I want my patients to know about me:

I value collaboration in the recovery process. I am serious when the need arises, but have a strong belief in the power of humor and laughter. I aim to treat individuals differently than what they have been treated before by providing a safe, non judgemental environment.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients:

I am the parent of a 13 year old who keeps me busy with her love of music. I attempt to be active within her school organizations. I also take care of yard work for my mother. I am active in a local church congregation. I enjoy practicing mindfulness throughout the week. Did I mention I am the parent of a teenager?!?
