Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I spent my college years thinking I would work in a biochemistry lab. However, through a shadowing experience with a wonderful doctor, I discovered that medicine was my calling. I have been on this journey in medicine ever since. I enjoy teaching and love that I can share the knowledge I acquire to help patients, medical students, and resident doctors learn about health and illnesses in a meaningful way.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I would describe my practice style as thorough, thoughtful, and patient-centered. I am a D.O. physician which means I can use hands-on osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) when needed with my patients. I have a breadth of interests within family medicine including preventative medicine, gynecologic care, geriatric and end-of-life care, osteopathic manipulation, transgender care, and hospital medicine.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
My husband and I, and our growing family, typically end the night with a good TV show or movie. My dog gets daily walk-runs with me; we pull each other along when we get tired! We spend most weekends and holidays gathering with friends and family. We love to be outdoors whenever possible or on the water. I have a creative side and dabble in crocheting, DIY home projects, and writing for social media.
