Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
At an early age I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Medicine based on my experiences firsthand observing family members provide care to patients in hospital and clinic settings. I pursued experiences in the fields of Science and Medicine to broaden my knowledge in the field, including bench research at the National Cancer Institute at NIH, volunteering at my local hospital throughout high school and shadowing a number of physicians while in undergrad. It is these early patient and clinical experiences that solidified my pursuit of becoming a physician. Through my preliminary training in Internal Medicine and higher training in Anesthesiology/Pain Management I have developed a true excitement and fulfillment in my profession to help patients from all walks of life with a myriad of medical conditions.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I define professional success as witnessing an improvement in the quality of life and happiness of my patients through the use of appropriate and thorough medical evaluation and intervention. I have a background in Anesthesiology with specialty training in Chronic Interventional Pain Management. I understand the value of using a comprehensive multimodal approach in treating pain, by treating the patient as a whole and not just their pain complaints. I truly enjoy getting to know my patients and developing a relationship with them, which allows me to tailor a specific pain management plan that fits them best.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I am very close to my family and friends and enjoy spending time with them outside of work. I enjoy anything outdoors including activities such as hiking, swimming, and playing tennis. Finally, my typical vacation would be exploring a new country or US landmark/park and trying new foods.
