Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
Medicine was a logical career pursuit for me given my family experience and academic background.
My father was a pharmacist and my mother was a nurse, so there was always talk of medicine at the dinner table.
I fell in love with science in middle school and went on to obtain a degree in chemical engineering and biomedical engineering at Carnegie-Mellon University.
Through a summer job in college, I worked for a pulmonary physician and became interested in pursuing medicine as a career.
My background and training has equipped me to fulfill God's purposes through service to others.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I practice evidence-based medicine, meaning that my diagnostic and therapeutic approach to disease is based on scientific studies and proven therapies.
My Christian faith informs all that I do in my personal and professional life.
I consider the opioid epidemic to be one of the most significant medical issues in my 25 years of practice, and I am very careful in prescribing these medications appropriately.
I plan to stay at my current practice until I retire sometime between 2023 and 2028.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Cycling, hiking, reading biographies; walking my Cavalier King Charles dog "Clemmie";
relaxing and going off the grid at my father's cabin; and summer vacations at the Jersey shore
