Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
Genetic counseling has allowed me to marry my passions for education and for biology. I strive to explain complex genetic concepts in a way that all will understand and will be able to make informed decisions when considering genetic testing in their healthcare. For those individuals facing a genetic diagnosis for themselves or for their pregnancy, I strive to support and empower the patient by providing resources, by serving as their advocate, and by lending a listening ear.
I specifically have chosen to pursue preconception and prenatal genetic counseling as I want to be able to stand with patients as they navigate uncertain terrain in pursuits of expanding their family.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My number one goal is to be a patient advocate! I take time to listen to the needs, worries, hopes, etc. of my patients in order the provide the best possible care for their unique circumstances.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy spending time with my human and furry family attending different events within central Pennsylvania. I also have started crafting over the past few years. I've crocheted many baby blankets for friends and family and have made many decorations for loved ones' special events.
