How We Can Help
Proactive Midlife Health Screening
Menopause is a normal change that all women go through. Often women may experience a decline in their health status at this time – but it doesn’t have to be this way. Rather than viewing this phase of life as negative, we view menopause as an opportunity to assess and enhance your quality of life, health and overall wellbeing.
Consultative Services
When you come in for your appointment, we will first discuss with you any menopause-related symptoms that you are experiencing. Then, we will review health concerns and conditions – including bone, breast and cardiovascular – that are specific to perimenopause and menopause. We will explain the changes that are occurring within your body, along with providing guidance about expectations and preventive care for some common issues.
Coordinated, Streamlined Care
When you come in for your appointment, you can get your screenings done right in our office. Most of your necessary testing will be done in a single visit and single location. In most cases, you’ll see our team for one or two visits – and the rest of your care will be coordinated with your gynecologist or other primary care provider. When needed, we have access to same-day mammography for breast issues.
Care for Menopause-Related Health Problems
When needed, our team can treat and help to manage problems associated with menopause. We always focus on providing necessary preventive health services to help you reach and maintain optimal midlife health.
Cardiovascular Care
As part of your cardiovascular care plan, we perform a 10-year cardiovascular risk assessment to gauge the safety of starting hormone therapy. This risk assessment is also helpful for patients to set goals and learn strategies to improve her cardiovascular health.
Bone Health Care
We offer in-office heel scans for preliminary bone health assessments, as well as coordination with other WellSpan providers for a more in-depth DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) scan.
Wide Range of Treatment Options
Our team offers the complete spectrum of treatment options for menopause-related conditions and symptoms, including hormone therapy, innovative medicine therapy and holistic alternative (non-hormonal) therapies. We incorporate the most up-to-date research and data about midlife health into our patients’ individualized treatment plans.
