Screening Colonoscopy: A colonoscopy allows the physician to examine the walls of the large intestine for polyps, inflammation and sources of blood loss. This study is the cornerstone of colon cancer screening and an important baseline for many patients.
Upper Endoscopy (EGD): An EGD examines the esophagus, stomach and beginning of the small intestine. Ulcers, celiac disease and complications from GERD are typically diagnosed through this exam.
Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS): EUS uses ultrasound waves to examine and safely biopsy a variety of internal organs. Pancreatic, esophageal and rectal cancers, as well as pancreatic cysts, are often examined using EUS.
Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP): ERCP uses endoscopy and real time X-ray to evaluate and treat various diseases of the pancreas and biliary tree.
