Located in Apple Hill Medical Center, WellSpan York Cancer Center offers a full spectrum of state-of-the-art cancer treatment and supportive services under one roof. Services include radiation therapy, medical oncology, surgical services, and outpatient infusion services, as well as oncology social workers, oncology dietitians, nurse educators, nurse navigators and a financial counselor.
In addition, WellSpan York Cancer Center offers a robust clinical trials program which includes a broad spectrum of new treatment modalities for a number of newly diagnosed and/or recurrent cancers. Many of the clinical trials offered at the facility are offered in conjunction with National Cancer Institute affiliated trialist organizations, an academic affiliate partner and industry-based trials.
This facility, along with WellSpan’s other cancer centers located in Gettysburg, Hanover, Ephrata and Lebanon, now collaborates with the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. This collaboration brings additional resources to cancer patients in the area, such as access to expanded clinical trials, second opinions and referrals to Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center for complex cases.
WellSpan York Cancer Center is approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program Level and received eight commendations at its last accreditation survey. This speaks to the high quality of clinical care, and the extensive support services provided to our community, and the expertise of our providers. Our radiation therapy center is also approved by the American College of Radiology—one of fewer than 300 such centers nationally.
