Feeding Treatment Approaches

The Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Feeding Program is a developmental approach designed to assess and address a variety of factors related to feeding difficulties.  The SOS approach allows a child to interact with food in a playful, non-stressful way.  This approach can be utilized in individual sessions, as well as with small groups of two to three children. Oral motor strengthening techniques are utilized to improve strength of the oral motor cavity through stimulation techniques. Therapy focuses on increase of movement, range, strength, and control for the lips, cheeks, jaw and tongue to improve dysphagia and feeding difficulties.
