What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that improves the appearance of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also known as a double chin. Kybella® injections destroy fat cells under the chin, delivering noticeable results.

Kybella® contains deoxycholic acid, a chemical that results in fat cell disruption. During a single treatment, a precise amount of medication is injected in a grid pattern that’s been pre-marked on the skin beneath the chin.

Who is a candidate for Kybella®?

What to expect with a Kybella® treatment

Before Kybella® treatment

• We’ll have a consultation to discuss any concerns and your goals for treatment.
• We’ll examine your chin and neck to determine if Kybella® is right for you.
• You’ll be given detailed instructions on how to prepare for the treatment.

During Kybella® treatment

• The treatment area will be cleansed and marked with a grid.
• A precise amount of Kybella® will be injected into the marked areas.
• The injections may cause a stinging or burning sensation.
• The treatment typically takes about 15 minutes.

After Kybella® treatment

• You may experience some swelling, bruising, pain and redness in the treatment area.
• Side effects are typically mild and resolve within a few days.
• You may need to take pain medication to manage discomfort.
• You’ll need to avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours.
• You’ll need to follow any post-treatment instructions provided by our team.
• You may need multiple Kybella® treatments to achieve your desired results.
