WellSpan Health and Family First Health today announced a collaborative effort that will bring together separate primary care operations WellSpan Family Medicine – North Fourth Street and the Family First Health Lebanon Center into a single, unified practice designed to streamline access to care while training the next generation of physicians.
Beginning July 1, 2026, primary care services will operate under the Family First Health name on the first floor of the WellSpan Dixon Foundation Health Center on North Fourth Street in Lebanon. The practice will include WellSpan physicians and advanced practice providers including residents from the WellSpan Good Samaritan family medicine residency program, ensuring continuity of care for patients and continued training for residents and clinical learners.
“This collaboration allows us to bring our teams together in one integrated space while staying focused on what matters most, and that’s caring for our community and preparing future health care providers to serve close to home,” said Tina Citro, vice president, WellSpan Health and president, WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
WellSpan has a long‑standing commitment to medical education and residency training in Lebanon County. Through this partnership, residents and faculty will remain WellSpan team members, continue working within the same residency program, and benefit from training in a larger, integrated primary care environment that supports collaboration, increased patient volumes and expanded learning opportunities.
Patients currently receiving care at WellSpan Family Medicine – North Fourth Street will transition to become patients of Family First Health, with existing provider patient relationships maintained and core services, including family medicine and obstetrics, continuing without interruption. Patients will also benefit from consolidated scheduling, shared resources and expanded appointment availability.
“This partnership reflects what is possible when we stay focused on what matters most—our patients and our community,” said Jenny Englerth, president and CEO of Family First Health. “At Family First Health, we believe care should be easy to access, close to home, and available to everyone. By bringing services together, we are strengthening primary care, supporting the next generation of providers, and ensuring our community can get the care they need—regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.”
The collaboration builds on a proven model between the two organizations. In 2025, Family First Health assumed operations of the Springwood Road Dental Center in York, while WellSpan residents continued to train and provide care at the site. WellSpan’s York-based residency programs anchor a comprehensive training model that emphasizes hands on clinical experience, multidisciplinary education and offer long-term workforce development, with a high percentage of residents retained as practicing physicians in the region after graduation.
Family First Health will continue to transition its electronic health record to Epic alongside WellSpan, ensuring clinical care and patient portal access remain seamless for patients and providers. WellSpan recently surpassed the 1 millionth individual who has signed up for a MyWellSpan account, its nationally-recognized patient portal. Patient self-scheduling is one of the many sought-after features of the MyWellSpan application, in addition to an electronic check-in process for pre-registration of appointments, proxy features for families, enhanced bill payment as well as the option to receive text message alerts and messaging with providers.
