Three WellSpan Health hospitals have been named to Healthgrades’ America’s Best Hospitals list for 2026. WellSpan York Hospital was named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for the third consecutive year, placing it among the top 2% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance. WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital and WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital were honored as two of America’s 250 Best Hospitals, placing them in the top 5%.
“Our commitment to quality care, innovation and personalized care is at the heart of everything we do at WellSpan so that we may continue to be a trusted partner in our patients’ health care journey,” said Dr. Michael Seim, senior vice president and chief quality officer at WellSpan Health. “By advancing clinical innovations and tailoring personalized care to each person’s unique needs, we’re improving outcomes and also creating a safer, more supportive experience for every individual we serve. These recognitions are a testament that our approach is making a meaningful difference for patients across our communities.”

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for more than 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation between America’s Best 250 Hospitals and hospitals that did not receive the distinction. In fact, the study showed that if all hospitals performed similarly to America’s 250 Best, more than 211,370 lives could have been saved during the 2022-2024 period.
